Summary sheriff member appointed
Jillian Martin-Brown has been appointed as the Scottish Sentencing Council’s new summary sheriff member.
Summary Sheriff Martin-Brown was appointed as a summary sheriff in Tayside, Central and Fife in 2016 and has particular responsibility for the Problem Solving Court in Forfar.
Chair of the Council, Lady Dorrian, the Lord Justice Clerk, said: “We are delighted to have Summary Sheriff Martin-Brown as our newest member at a busy and important time for the Scottish Sentencing Council. It is important that we have input from all levels of the judiciary and her experience will be invaluable to the Council as we move towards delivering Scotland’s first sentencing guidelines.”
The summary sheriff member is appointed by the Lord Justice General following consultation with the Scottish Ministers.
Jillian Martin-Brown replaces Andrew McIntyre, who left the Council as the summary sheriff member following his appointment as a sheriff.
