Senator member to chair meetings

Lord Turnbull, the senator member of the Council, will chair future meetings until a new Lord Justice Clerk is appointed.

The Chair of the Council is the Lord Justice Clerk (LJC) by virtue of the office. As recently announced, the former LJC, Lord Carloway, has been appointed as Scotland’s new Lord President.

Under legislation, another judicial Council member may chair meetings for a temporary period.
